Q:
My training partner has introduced
me to the ASN Maximum Intensity Training Program. He
takes HP-100, 100% hydrolyzed whey isolate protein immediately
after we finish our training. I follow his steps to
the letter except I take a different protein powder.
The problem is that I don't get the same results as
he, not even close. He tells me if I don't use HP-100
after training not to bother as I won't get any results.
Can you tell me what makes HP-100 so much more effective?
A:
As the director of ASN Advanced Sports
Nutrition, I also follow the Maximum Intensity
Training Program in preparation for next
year's Bodybuilding Championships competition, therefore
I need to get results as much as you do. It is very
important to get the protein in the muscle within the
first half hour after you finish your training session.
By using a non hydrolyzed protein after training, means
it still needs to go through the digestive process which
can take up to 2 hrs or more depending on the protein
used. Therefore you won't get the protein into the muscle
group in time to maximize recovery and muscle growth.
Unfortunately you still get other companies telling
you that all proteins are the same, this is far from
the truth. These companies are only interested in making
money. They don't care how hard you and I train and
whether or not we get results. You have to remember
that the number one performance supplement when it comes
to putting on lean muscle mass, is a high-tech protein.
If you are looking for bargains you can't expect results.
I know that 100% Hydrolyzed HP-100 is more expensive
than other proteins, but let me simplify things for
you. Unless your protein can get into your muscle at
the critical time, it won't help you build muscle, making
all your efforts at the gym futile. Now you decide,
which protein you need to take! Just look around and
check out all the protein labels and see how many offer
100% money back guarantee on purity and potency, like
we do. Not many put their money where their mouth is!
Q:
I've tasted the new HP-100 Hydrolized
Oligopeptide Isolated Whey Protein and it seems to leave
a slight bitter aftertaste. I've tasted other protein
powders and they seem to have a sweeter creamier taste.
Why is that?
A:
Let me tell you, we can develop a protein that tastes
as good as a milk shake, but will never, ever go that
way. I will never bring you a protein which vill sell
just because it tastes good. The market is flooded with
such proteins. Proteins which give you no results regardless
of how much or for how long you take them. Being an
athlete like yourselves, craving results, I am angered
by the vast range of products that promise a lot, yet
fail to deliver any results at all. What is worse, through
advertising, these companies try to convince you that
all proteins are the same. ASN Advanced Sports Nutrition
is the first Australian Company which has travelled
around the world in order to bring you the
"HP-100 100% Hydrolized Peptide Isolated Whey Protein."
I am proud to announce ASN Advanced Sports
Nutrition has made history by lifting the standards
of protein to the top level around the world. I hope
more Australian companies will follow my lead so together
we can make Australia number one when it comes to sports
supplements and be recognized worldwide. In order for
a protein to become 100% Hydrolyzed it must go through
several stages. This means that each isolated peptide
has gone through an enzyme process much like that which
occours naturally within your digestive system. Because
of this HP-100 is absorbed straight away with no side
effects (bloating, flautulence, etc). The bitter aftertaste
is a result of this process which removes all lactose
(milk sugars) and the fact it is a characteristic of
the growth and immune factors. If you come across a
protein supplement which claims to be 100% hydrolyzed
protein isolate and it doesn't have a bitter aftertaste
you can be assured that it's not what it claims to be,
most likely you are wasting you time and money. I have
heard of de-bittering technology in regards to hydrolyzed
protein, but the bitterness is removed from the protein
by removing the active growth and immune factors. Beware!
Partially Hydrolized or Pre-Digested proteins will
not deliver the same results as HP-100 100% Hydrolyzed
Peptide Isolated Whey Protein, not even close.
Remember
"It's not how much protein you eat, it's
how efficiently your body uses it".
Q:
Firstly I want to thank ASN for bringing
out the NANO Creatine. I’m a healthfood shop owner
in Austalia, whose creatine sales were down until the
new NANO Creatine came out. Before a lot of customers
complained that the micronised creatine gave them the
‘shits’ and pains in the gut. Now I don’t
get any complaints at all. Why do people get problems
with other creatines?'
A:
As a developer and producer of sports supplements we
are constantly bombarded with material manufacturers
offering deals on their substances to be used in our
products. They vary from high quality expensive materials
to poor quality cheap materials….and I mean cheap!
Some producers of sports supplements would jump at the
chance to use these cheap supplements because of the
large profit they can make very quickly. Unfortunately
it is at the expense of the consumer. Plus the retailer
doesn’t know it is ‘crap’ , they have
been told by the companies that their product is the
‘best’. By then it is too late, the retailer
has been persuaded to stock the product and is stuck
with them to sell. At the moment there is some very
cheap creatine being offered to the sport supplement
companies. It comes from inferior manufacturing and
is around $3 per kilogram. High quality creatine costs
between $25-30au per kilogram. That makes a big difference
in profit when you are a producer of sports supplements.
Unfortunately price is related to quality and the cheap
creatines have a lot of impurities and metals in them
which is what makes you sick. Once people use a creatine
that makes them sick, they are not keen to try it again.
The same goes for any sports supplement. Therefore the
retailers lose a customer and their business slows down.
It then takes a lot of hard work by genuine companies
like ourselves to try and re-educate people that there
are sports supplements that do work of high quality
and don’t make you sick.
Creatine has so many health benefits and with the introduction
of the NANO Creatine we can get people back to the health
food shops and gyms buying creatine so we can all benefit
from it.
Q:
Almost every company in the world brings
out buckets of protein. 4kg, 5kg and even 8kg whopper
buckets. Why doesn’t ASN bring out big buckets
of protein?
A:
For starters, we are based on
quality and not quantity. Secondly, we are based on
results and not profits. Every Seminar we run world
wide, I ask a lot of athletes the results they get with
using the big buckets. After 3 months, 6 months of usage,
they tell me nothing. No results. I question them why
spend your money on these type of proteins. They answer
because it is cheap for such a big size. I believe some
of you use these proteins because you are fooled by
the labelling on the buckets in regards to the quality
of the protein. The latest trend is to have big buckets
of protein claiming to be hydrolysed whey protein isolate.
Let me just say that a high quality hydrolysed whey
protein isolate would cost more than most people's weekly
wages. These buckets are being made for around $3 a
kilo and you are getting charged around $120 for a 4
kilo bucket.
I believe it is the biggest rip off when it comes to
putting on lean muscle mass. I am very disappointed
that companies like this are being very disloyal to
the athlete putting out products like this. We will
never go that way. The reason why we don’t have
big buckets is because we want to be able to sell the
athlete the best product on the market but at a price
that they can afford. Making our products in larger
containers would put them out of everyone’s price
range, and I will never put out a cheap product in a
large bucket because then you would not achieve any
results. Another problem is the settling of the protein.
This material is very fine and the particle sizes are
also small. When HP-100 is first packaged into it's
container it is filled to the top. After a day or so
the protein settles and fills the tub to around 3/4
full. Imagine if we were to start producing big buckets.
The protein would fill to the top on manufacture then
a couple of days later it would settle in the bucket
to be only half full! Imagine all of our customers upon
opening their big bucket of protein finding it only
half full. I think there would be a few complaints!
So we will never put the HP-100 into big buckets.
HP-100 has proven beyond doubt, when you
have a quality product you achieve results!
Q:Hi
Peter, I have been a follower of you ever since you
have started distributing sports supplements. I know
you use to sell another hydrolysed whey protein in the
past and now you have the HP-100 in which I now have
switched to as well. I must say this protein is the
best protein I have ever used. I cannot believe it.
The hydrolysed whey protein I have used in the past
was good but it doesn’t even come close to the
new HP-100. What’s the difference between the
HP-100 and the hydrolysed whey protein you have sold
in the past?
A:
The Hydrolyzed Whey Protein isolate I have sold in the
past was AST’s VP2. I have read in a lot of the
bodybuilding forums that guy's that have previously
used other 100% hydrolyzed whey protein isolate and
like you, have switched to using HP-100, are achieving
even better results. How does HP-100 compare? Well,
for starters, HP-100 has more
protein per gram serve than other proteins. But these
are not your average proteins. They are fully hydrolyzed
peptide fractions. These specific peptides that have
been proven scientifically to be ‘bio- active’
and to be directly involved in muscle growth and recovery.
These peptides are formed through the isolation and
hydrolysis process of whey protein isolate. The higher
the hydrolysis level, the more ‘bio active’
peptides you have. I know for a fact that the hydrolysis
level or (DH) degree of hydrolysis of the HP-100 is
the highest in the market today. We have seen many test
results of different proteins and at this stage no other
hydrolysed whey protein comes close. We will be publishing
some test results soon. The scientific research studies
on fully hydrolysed whey peptide isolate has proven
it is the most effective protein for building muscle
and for recovery.
HP-100 is the highest quality 100% hydrolysed whey peptide
isolate money you can buy. That’s why we offer
$10,000 to any other sports nutrition company, to prove
that their protein is more effective for building muscle
than HP-100. That includes other so called 100% hydrolysed
whey protein isolates as well!
Q:Hi
Peter, great training program, the Max-IT. You are right
in saying this is the most advanced training program.
I think it is fantastic! How come other sports supplement
companies don't offer training programs like yours?
A:
Other sports supplement companies don't care if you
succeed or achieve results. Remember, results come from
both training and nutrition. Other companies just care
for profits and not for the results you want to achieve.
As long as you like the taste and you buy it, that's
all they care about. We work a little different at ASN.
That's because we are all athletes too. We want to achieve
results just like you do and that's why we not only
supply you with the most advanced sports nutrition but
also the most advanced training programs to go with
it. This ensures that you will achieve maximum results
when it comes to your performance.
Q:Hi
Pete, I’m a fan of your products and I think
they’re the best in the world. I have gone from
71kg up to 80kg in around 8 weeks using the HP-100
and NANO Creatine with the Max-IT training and diet.
I am thrilled with my muscle gains and I am now looking
for extra supplements to compliment the ones I am
already using. The ones I am after are not in your
range yet and I have used others with no results.
I am confused with all the advertising. Can you help
me?
A:
I know how difficult it can be working out what products
to buy and then finding out the one you brought gives
you no results and you have been ripped off by the
hype of the advertising. Just have a look in any commercial
fitness and bodybuilding magazine and their full of
it! It’s like each advertisement is trying to
out do the other. Nitric Oxide boosters, testosterone
boosters, growth hormone boosters, muscle boosters,
miracle products that sound like they are guaranteed
to give you results. They promote that their product
have things like improved delivery systems, ultra
fast delivery systems, all with trademarked names,
used in slogans, like for example; “Now with
‘FAT™ - Fast Absorbing Technology’,
a high tech absorption system”, but they never
explain what the technology actually is. Maybe it’s
because there is no technology. It’s all crap!
They also have all this scientific sounding literature
and even quote scientific references, to make the
products sound genuine. Some company’s even
resort to promoting they have their own scientists
working for them and use them like a front man. In
reality the truth is, yes these guy’s may be
real scientists, but they get paid off by these companies
to say what the companies want them to say. ( Got
to pay for their university coarse somehow! ) They
construct their ‘scientific studies’ to
promote a favorable outcome for the their product
they have studied. i.e.; doing a study on protein,
comparing their protein with another and the other
protein type is the cheapest and nastiest protein
you can get. Of course the results are going to be
in your favour! One example is we recently received
results from CSRIO’s Food Science Australia
( an independent government research lab ) on lab
test results on a protein, which was supposed to be
similar to HP-100. Only to find that this protein
isn’t even hydrolysed and is just a standard
intantized ion exchange whey protein isolate. Not
even remotely close to the HP-100 even though both
proteins are promoted as the same thing. Now this
other protein has been promoted as being used in scientific
studies and is promoted by a company who has a scientist
as a front man that performed the study and found
that this protein caused x% of muscle gain, reduced
body fat, acted upon muscle fibre types, increased
strength and had all these other fantastic health
benefits. I don’t know what material they used
in the study, but it isn’t the protein that
is sitting on the health food shop shelves promoting
this. This is down right fraud! Companies are getting
away with things like this everyday. The reason why
I started my own company is because I did not want
to be part of these companies any more. I’m
an athlete as well and I want results and the only
way I found to achieve this was to bring out products
that I trusted and were guaranteed to give me results.
Even if I have to search to the remotest part of the
world to bring you the highest quality ingredients,
I will regardless of cost and profit margin. With
all ASN – Advanced Sports Nutrition products,
we will always provide you with a full explanation
of the technology and ingredients that goes into the
products.
‘The truth and nothing but the truth’
The advice I can give you is keep using your current
ASN products and when each new ASN product comes out,
incorporate it into your training and diet schedule,
as we have done with the new NANO
Glutamine. We highly recommend this product to
use in conjunction with your HP-100 and NANO Creatine.
When each new product does come out we will be providing
proper information on how to use it in conjunction
with the other ASN products and incorporating it into
your training and diet program. This will give you
even better results. We are always researching how
to improve on what we already have. It’s how
we evolve. Watch out in future for new and exciting
products. Like your muscle, we are growing too.

Q:Hi
Peter, I'm very dissapointed after seeing the results
of the hydrolysis level between HP-100 and an American
protein. The lab test showed the hydrolysis level on
the American protein to be only 3%. How are these companies
allowed to mislead the consumer by claiming over 600%
more muscle gains, when by the test results it is not
even hydrolysed?
A:
This was one of the issues which come up in our last
Sports Supplement Industry Group meeting. Unfortunately
at least another ten proteins from different companies
were tested by an independent lab and the results showed
that many of them were up to 20% lower in protein content
than what was stated on the labels. Efforts are starting
to be put in place now to start fixing these problems.
Companies for a long time have been exploiting the system
to try and get an upper hand in their marketing. Instead
of using the highest grade materials to promote their
product as the best, they hype up their product to sound
good. Aclassic example is the hydrolysed whey protein
from the USA that was tested. We know for a fact that
the protein material in the scientific study, that found
the 600% more muscle gain, is different than the material
used right now in the tubs on the shelf. The company
in question has since swithed to a cheaper material,
however they still market their product using the old
material's scientific findings. Through the efforts
of the SSIG problems like these should be sorted out.
Q:Hi
Pete, I use to watch you compete in the early days and
was always amazed at the freaky condition you would
come in. You set the trend in Australia and set the
bench mark for other bodybuilders to follow in regards
to the hardness and the freaky 'cuts' you could show
on your body. All the crowd would go bazerk when you
stepped on stage. Could you tell me what is the secret
to get your body in that condition and with such low
body fat?
A:
There are not any secrets. First of all using a training
program such as the Max-IT and the diet is a good start.
The key to getting into condition is to make a plan
and start that plan at least six to eight months away
from your competition. In my case I start out about
12 months from competition, which is why the Max-IT
program is 52 weeks long. As each week goes by your
body gets in better condition and because this is a
gradual process your body will also adapt and become
conditioned and balanced to this new metabolic state.
Too many people make the mistake of dieting to late,
in which they try to drop body fat too fast. What happens
is that this will put the body in an unbalanced state,
so if the diet is not precise and a mistake is made
with the timing of a meal or you eat a wrong type of
food, on the day of the competition you will not be
in your best condition. Starting your diet a fair way
out from your competition, ensures that you make small
changes every week and if you happen to make a small
mistake in regards to your timing of your meals or eat
'bad' food, because your body has adapted to your new
metabolic rate, it won't make much difference over all
for getting in shape. You can get back on track easier
and you do not have to make any drastic changes to your
diet.
